FAQ

What is the rarest fish in Roll a Fisherman?
The top of the observed ladder is the Exclusive tier, where the Megalodon sits. Players report one or two tiers above Mythic — Divine, then Exclusive (sometimes called Deep Exclusive) — but the exact top label has not been confirmed in-game.
Does fish size affect value?
No. Community testing concluded size is a visual feature — a huge Mosasaurus is not automatically worth more than a small rare fish. Value follows rarity, mutations, and placement, not length.
How is fish value displayed?
Placed fish show a Cash-per-second figure on the dock. Most numbers below are per-second placements observed in-game, not base prices — only the Beluga has a confirmed base value (6.35k).

The rarity ladder

Players reading the in-game labels report this ladder, bottom to top:

Common → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythic → Divine → Exclusive / Deep Exclusive

The top label varies between reports — some players read “Exclusive”, others “Deep Exclusive” — and no Divine fish has been clearly documented yet. Treat the ladder as orientation and the in-game tag as truth. Rarity drives both catch difficulty and value, and the mutation system multiplies it further.

How to read these numbers

  • Per-second ≠ base value. A placed fish earns per second; the one number confirmed as a base value is the Beluga’s 6.35k. Everything else is what that fish earned on that dock at that progress stage — the same species can show wildly different figures (two lobsters at 1,000/s and 350/s in the same week).
  • Size is visual only. The giants — megalodon, mosasaurus, kraken, whale, beluga — dominate the screen but value follows rarity, mutations, and placement, not length.
  • The index tracks what you have caught, and the Equip Best button applies to fish as well as fishermen — both switches, per the dock guide.

Which fish matter for progression

  • Rebirth requirements. The observed 150-million tier requires a Squid and an Orca in your possession — never auto-sell them. The rebirth guide has the checklist.
  • Mutation candidates. High-base-value fish (Beluga is the classic target) are the only ones worth 100-Gold mutation rolls — criteria in the mutations guide.
  • Stand displays. Surplus rare fish keep earning on the stand; the keep-one-sell-the-rest rule is in the trading guide.
