Roll a Fisherman Trading Guide: The Stand Loop and What to Display

Trading in Roll a Fisherman runs through your fish stand: display surplus rare fish for continuous Cash, keep collectible copies, and never list your rebirth fish.

FAQ

Can you trade fish with other players directly?
No direct player-to-player trading window has been documented. The current trading layer is the stand loop — displaying fish that keep earning — and the game has carried the [TRADING] title prefix since mid-September 2026, so watch updates for a fuller system.
Which fish should I display on my stand?
Surplus copies of rare, event, and collectible fish — anything whose stand value beats its one-time sell price. Keep at least one copy of everything and never list fish your next rebirth requires, like the Squid and Orca observed at the 150 million tier.
Are there trading limits or fees?
None have been published. Until the developer documents limits, cooldowns, or fees, treat the stand loop as unlimited but unregulated, and do not assume the freedom will last forever.

What “trading” means right now

The game currently carries a [TRADING] prefix on its Roblox page, and the trading layer that exists today is the stand loop: every fish you catch has two fates — sell it once for Cash, or display it on your stand, where it keeps producing income even while you are offline. Deciding which fish go where is the whole skill.

That decision rule is simple: if a fish’s stand value beats its one-time sell value, display it; otherwise sell it. Common fish keep the Cash flowing when sold; rare, event, and collectible fish usually earn more on the stand. Our fish list has the observed values for both paths.

The display checklist

Before anything goes on the stand:

  1. Keep one collectible copy. List only surplus duplicates — the collection display matters for prestige and possible future trading value.
  2. Check the rebirth list first. The observed 150-million rebirth tier requires a Squid and an Orca; listing them means buying them back later at best. The rebirth guide has the full requirement table.
  3. Event fish: wait. Limited fish are flagged by the community as having future trading value — hold at least one copy until their event ends and their scarcity is clear.
  4. Pull back anything your progress needs. The stand is reversible: you can remove a displayed fish and use it yourself later.

What nobody knows yet (and we will not invent)

The trading system is young, and honest guides admit the gaps:

  • No documented unlock condition. Whether the stand itself has an unlock gate — level, Cash, rebirth, or payment — has not been announced.
  • No direct trade window. There is no documented offer-accept-confirm flow between players, despite the [TRADING] branding.
  • No published limits, cooldowns, or fees. Do not assume the freedom is permanent.
  • Who buys displayed fish? The community is not even sure whether displayed fish are bought by other players or auto-sold by the system — both readings produce the same offline Cash, so it does not change the strategy.

Security: scams and safe habits

No trading scams have been reported in this game so far — there is no direct trading to scam through. The protections that matter today are inventory discipline:

  • Keep one copy of every rare fish.
  • Never list rebirth-critical fish (auto-sell has already eaten players’ Squids — see the common mistakes list).
  • Re-check the stand after every update; patches have reshuffled values before (the 2026-09-22 rebalance).

Where new trading info will surface

Official news lands in the Discord server and on the game page first; community wikis translate that into tables within days. When a real player-to-player trade window ships, this guide gets rewritten — until then, the stand loop plus the display checklist is the complete picture, and the fastest way to grow it is more placed fishermen (see the fishermen list for what to roll for next).
